Nathan Burton & President Ford

Magician Nathan Burton known for his mix of comedy and magic has a show in Las Vegas at the Planet Hollywood hotel & casino. He has been seen on many TV shows including "America's Got Talent" first and second seasons.

Before Nathan was headlining a Vegas show and doing magic for millions on TV he was a little kid using his walkie-talkie to confuse Secret Service agents.

Nathan's Father was a minister at the St. Margaret's Episcopal Church in Palm Desert from 1978 - 1983. During that time, President Ford and his wife often attended services at St. Margaret's.

The president's daughter Susan Ford was married at the church. During the rehearsal the evening before the wedding, the Secret Service agents heard someone talking on their walkie talkie channel, saying things like "10-4, over and out" And – you guessed it – the culprit was Nathan. They quickly confiscated the 7-year-old's walkie talkie until after the ceremony.

So all you have to do is be a little boy who plays with secret service and wow you learn how to make yourself disappear. I always knew the secret service was magic!

More Vegas Magic - Coming Soon!

Big Magic Announcement coming! Rumor has it that a big magician announcement is coming tomorrow February 1st, 2008.

Two well known magaicians are going to be announcing their plans for Vegas shows!

One of the magicians may be taking over the theater at Paris Las Vegas that is currently home to The Producers (which closes Feb 9).

The Producers Vegas - Closing!

The Mel Brooks hit broadway musical The Producers will close in just over a week. The Producers last professional production staged by Brooks is currently playing at the Paris Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. It will close on February 9th.

The show has many fans all over the world and I'm sure many will make it to Vegas to see the show its last week.

Here is an inside look at backstage. Above is a photo of the green room at the Vegas Show. Not too fancy, just some Christmas lights, a few couches and a backdrop from opening night red carpet.

Video Update!

The War of the Kennedys...

Things are heating up between the Kennedys... Half are for Hillary and Half are for Obama.

Just a few days ago Caroline and Ted kennedy threw their support behind Obama. And just today in the LA Times - Kathleen Kennedy Townsend, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Kerry Kennedy stated they support Hillary!

It is becoming a "war of the Dads" as I see it. One side of the Kennedy family says "He is just like our dad" (Caroline referring to Obama as like her dad JFK). Then Today... "She's just like our dad." (RFK Jr referring to Hillary as like his dad RFK).

It'll be interesting to see if this family feud will tell how anything about how the people will vote... Will it end up being a tie? Half the Dems for one... and half the dems for another? Can we have Dual Presidents? hehe

Right now its just a war of "words" - Whats next?... Will Caroline pull her cousin's hair? That would be a great photo :)

I was a supporter of John Edwards. I will know turn my support to Hillary Clinton.

Obama Snubs Hillary!

Last night at the State of the Union address both Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama were present. The two almost saw eachother... but Obama turned his head from Hillary in an attempt to snub her.

Gordie Brown to Take 9 Month Break!

Comedian, Impressionist, Singer Gordie Brown set to take a 9 month break. The performer who currently has a hit Las Vegas show at the Venetian Hotel & Casino will close his show on Feb 15th.

Why is he closing down his show for a few months??? He was offered a better deal. The Venetian just opened up a sister property - the Palazzo. Word from the Venetian is that the director of entertainment told Gordie he could stay in his current theater or if he took a 9 month break, they would build him a brand new theater at the Palazzo. Gordie took the offer and the new theater.

I'd have to say it seems like a nice deal. Get a 9 months vacation and a new theater.

Hawaiian Tropic Zone - Grand Opening!

I attended the VIP Grand Opening of the new Hawaiian Tropic Zone at the Planet Hollywood on Friday evening.

This is the new hot spot to go in Vegas.

Who was at the Party:
The cast of HBO's hit show Entourage.
Emily Burton - sister of magaician Nathan Burton who has a show at Planet Hollywood.
Some of the heads of the CineVegas Film Festival.
Hot Guys and Girls all over the place.

The place is so new they still had a pricetag on one of the decorative pillows (above one of the Hawaiian Tropic Girls holds the pillow and shows off the pricetag). The night was filled with entertainment as well - other photo shows Hawiian dancers in full motion as they dance to a song performed by... well look at the photo... a fun and cheesy lounge singer! It's not Vegas without a little bit of cheese...

Miss America!

While they did alot of competitions... evening gown, talent, etc, etc... The girls of the Miss America pagent did a lot of bonding too.

I wonder if shortly after this photo was taken if one of the girls got upset that someone looked better then her and then tipped the boat over? That would be funny!

Monte Carlo Vegas on FIRE!

The Monte Carlo Hotel & Casino in Vegas had a huge fire today!

A 3 alarm fire was reported at the Monte Carlo Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas today about 11:00am. By Noon the top floors of the hotel were engulfed in flames. Official reports say that everyone made it out ok. As of now (12:30pm) the fire is now contained. The hotel has been evacuated and local news reports are saying that anyone staying at the Monte Carlo has been re-located to the MGM Grand.

Eye witnesses say they saw people running frantic through the halls of the hotel. Some people didn't want to leave the casino floor after being told the hotel was on fire. Security had to make sure people left the burning building. The things that make us say "ZOhh My God!" If the building was on fire, the last thing I'd want to do is stay and gamble. Crazy People!

David Copperfield's Secret Affair!

Did you hear this? News broke yesterday that David Copperfield has not one... but 2 secret "love children" children with model Maria Petilickova.

The 51 year old world famous magician has secretly fathered two children with twenty-five year old Czech model Maria Petlickova. Marie is raising the two young children, along with her mother, in a Las Vegas home Copperfield purchased for them. The luxury house is valued at more than $1.5 million and sits in the grounds of an exclusive country club.

This "ZOhh My God" hits the press just as a US grand jury continues to investigate rape allegations made against the magician by a twenty-one year old Seattle woman a few months back.

Heath Ledger's Private Side

I have a good friend who was Heath Ledger (and Michelle William's) neighbor in Brooklyn, NY. When they were together the two hired a Brooklyn artist to transform a pile of old beer cans into a piece of artwork for their home.

The beer cans were cut and formed into butterflies and arranged in a net like patteren and hung over the ceiling. When Heath and Michelle would open the windows in the room, the wind would blow through the butterflies and make a charm like sound.

Beer can butterflies! Gotta love it!

Would Bill Clinton Go Gay?

Former President Bill Clinton appeared on Las Vegas radio station KLUC this week. During the interview the cast of the station's morning show asked the former president some serious and also some seriously funny questions.

One funny question was this: "If in order to save the World you had to go gay, who would you go gay for?"

What was Bill's response: "I don't know if I want to say, being who I am, my answer could effect them. (he laughed) I would say George Clooney or Brad Pitt."

What a good sport he is! We Love Bill Clinton!

Mike Tyson gets a Lap Dance!

Last Night in Las Vegas Mike Tyson was seen at the Pure nightclub. Many club goers saw good ole Mike getting a lap dance. The big question is... was he forcing the poor girl to dance for him... or was she just a willing little ho?

We'll have to check the police reports in a few days to figure it out! hehe

The Dark Knight!

With the death of Heath Ledger yeaterday afternoon many fans have been asking "Whats going to happen with the new batman film - The Dark Knight?"

According to IMDB, the film is currently in Post-Production status Click Here! If this is true than the film should still come out on time and as planned on July 18, 2008. Post-production means that they have filmed the entire movie and are now in the editing process and adding special effects. If while editing they realize they have to re-film a scene that may be where the problems start for the film. If everything goes well and they have all the scene perfect then the film should come out as planned.

I have a strong feeling they will do all that they can to make sure the film comes out on time!

RIP - Heath Ledger!

Heath Ledger - Rest In Peace!

Heath Ledger most known for his ground breaking role in the film Brokeback Mountain has died today. Found just after 3:30 pm eastern time in his NYC apartment by his maid. His body was reportedly found surrounded by pills. Ledger was reportedly taking sleeping pills after completing I'm Not There, in which he played one of the many incarnations of singer Bob Dylan.

Ledger was naked and unconscious, The New York Times reported.

The police have not ruled out foul play at this time, however it appears to be an overdose of pills. The investigation will go on.

For now all we can do is say a pray for his family and close friends.

Rest in Peace Heath Ledger. You are a star!

Andy Garcia has Dandruff?

Andy Garcia was in Vegas this past weekend for the VIP Grand Opening of the newest Hotel - Casino - Resort The Palazzo. he performed during the opening ceremony, which included performances by Seal and legendary Diana Ross.

During Andy's time on stage you could see dandruff all over his collar and shoulder of his suit. That makes me say ZOhh My God!

Bill & Hillary have Lunch with Workers

Today in Las Vegas Bill and Hillary Clinton surprised workers at local Las Vegas casinos and had lunch with them.

The Nevada Democratic Caucus is tomorrow, January 19th. The culinary union and the Obama campaign have been spreading lies about Hillary to their members and in many cases passing out propaganda flyers to casino employee dining halls.

The Clintons heard about this and took the culinary union head on. They took the opportunity to talk face to face with casino employees (most of whom are Culinary union members) and dispell the lies.

Bill was seen at the Bellagio employee dining hall followed by a visit by Hillary. The two also made surprise visits to other casinos throughout the day! I like a lady who hears about lies and takes em head on... that makes me say ZOhh My God!

Celine Back in Vegas???

Celine Dion ended her 5 year run in Las Vegas in December 2007 and will start a world tour next month. But it seems like Celine and her husband / manager Rene Angelil love Las Vegas. He was just seen playing poker at the Bellagio poker room last week, and unlike Leo DiCaprio, Rene is nice with the cashiers and tips very nicely.

Word around Dion and her husband says that they are keeping their home in Las Vegas as well as their Florida home. Several people have tipped me off stating that Dion is in talks to return to the Colesseum at Caesars Palace after her World tour for an all new show... Could this be true? Will we see a Taking Chances show in Las Vegas? We'll have to wait and see... but it's a very good possibility!

Leo Doesn't Tip?

Leo may be a celebrity who gets involved with politics and special interests but does he tip?

Over the New Years Eve holiday he was seen in Las Vegas, NV. One of the places he likes to frequent is the Bellagio poker room. Word from the poker room is that Leo may be a nice guy but he sure doesn't tip.

He often cashes out thousands of dollars at the cashier and never tips a penny to the cashiers.

So next time you see him on TV or at an event urging people to donate money to a special cause, remind the celeb to donate a little to the people that help him out in Vegas.

Taylor Dayne is Back!

Late 80's and early 90's pop diva Taylor Dayne best known for her hit songs "Tell It To My Heart" and "With Every Beat of My Heart" is coming out with an all new album on February 5th. The new album is entitiled Satisfied with the first single being "Beautiful"

I have a tip that one of her first performances to promote her new album will most likely be in Vegas. She is good friends with hairstylist to the stars Kim Vo www.KimVo.com and he will be celebrating the Grand Opening of his new Vegas salon at the Mirage Hotel/Casino in March. Celine Dion Flipped You off?

Celine Dion just ended her 5 year run in Las Vegas and I have a story you may not have heard before.

A former sound tech for Celine and a best friend to a sound tech guy who worked on Celine's show for the last 5 years shared this candid story of the singing Diva. "She's one of the boys, after all she grew up with a lot of boys in her family. Every night before going on stage Celine would flip off one of the sound guys off." "It became an inside joke and a kind of good luck charm per say before every show."

I guess the finger isn't so bad afterall... if it's coming from Ms Dion!

Million ($) Dollar Mary

Mary J Blige was in concert tonight at the Paris Casino in Las Vegas, where she perfomed at the Monster Cable Awards for CES week. I have a source working for the awards that stated Monster paid $1 million for the award winning singer to perform tonight.

The crowd roared when she stepped on stage to cheers of M-J-B... M-J-B...

Mary J rocked the concert. Stars seen at concert included: MC Hamer, Sinbad and Sheila E.

During the performance Monster presented Mary J with a lifetime achievement award.

$1 million and an award... The things that make you say... "ZOhh My God!"

The Award Show No-One Attended

The People's Choice Awards went on tonight... but no one was there... well just Queen Latifa the host of the show. With the WGA - Writer's Strike in full force there was no one to write the show and no one was willing to cross the picket lines.
 
I could only watch for a few awards before I felt like throwing a tomato at the screen. Queen Latifa did the best she could, but she too should have stayed home and just mailed the awards to the winners. "We the people" could of easily went to the awards website and read the list of winners, I'm sure that would've been more upbeat and fun.
 
Thank God the Golden Globe Awards were cancelled... I couldn't take another writer-less award show! Come on big entertainment companies and give them writers some money!

N.H. Votes

The general elecetion is months away but primary season is in full throttle. Today New Hampshire votes! and it's already crazy... Yesterday Hillary Clinton cried at an event and all of a sudden it's personal for her? (seems like she copied Edwards from the night befores debate, where he told Clinton it was personal for him, and she didn't respond).

John McCain was out meeting with supporters this morning. I know he's trying to win every vote but when did he start liking men? (see photo) I'm a gay man and all for public displays of affection... but by a Republican? ... ;)

And one voter was wavin her flag... on her eyes... a lil creepy... (see photo)

Tony Danza is currently the lead in The Producers the musical at Paris Las vegas, but did you know he plays the uke?

Cher - Vegas - West Hollywood

It's been all over the news that Cher will be coming to Vegas, then all of a sudden it was Bette Midler coming to Vegas. Does anyone really know what's going on with Cher???

I have a source who is close to Cher and from what I've been told... the story gets juicy.

My source says that Cher had a contract signed before Bette for a show, however in what seemed like a rant Cher tore up her contract at the last minute and wanted to demand more before she accepted an offer for a Vegas show.

Cher has since went back into negotiations with AEG Live! and is said to have now signed on for 100 shows a year starting later in 2008. Cher and Bette with be the new "Celine and Elton" of the Coloseum. The official announcemnet is set for late January or early February 2008.

If Cher is going to start a new Vegas show, she better get back into shape. The Diva was seen in December in West Hollywood with daughter Chastity Bono. (See photos) Look like she could use a good make-over. 2008 is the year for greatness... someone better tell Cher!

Megan McCauley

Pop singer Megan McCauley whose song "Tap That" is quickly becoming a club hit in the US was seen in Vegas last month. This photo shows her clubbin it up with a puppy.

PlayGirl - Rico Elbaz

Former Chippnedale and PlayGirl model Rico Elbaz sent me some photos and info. He is currently in a show in Vegas called "Men of Sapphire" at Sapphire Adult Entertainment (shows nightly at 10pm)

I asked Rico to share any fan stories but all he would say is: "to be honest I'd rather keep my story's private if you know what i meen ;-) lol"

You may have seen Chantal Carrere perform her awesome comedey set at a club in NYC or all over the US, or seen her on the HIT reality show Fat March on ABC.

Since Fat March and losing over 50 pounds she has continued to train and stay fit. She head off to Arizona on the 13th to run a marathon. Congrats Chantal! You Rock!
